Shogun; remember that movie from 1980 with Richard Chamberlin and Yoko Shimada, its where this piece comes from. I never make sketches. did you know that? My art pieces are all images in my mind and just like you see the final piece that’s how I see it in my mind. I don’t know why I loved that movie I guess it more the longing to stay a kid that draws me into these images. Kids are fun, being a kid is fun. I love thinking like a kid, all that imagination. Sorry, shogun, the art piece. Created it a couple of months back with just the image of shogun in the center with his Kimono and (details took me forever!). Then came the image part of a written vocation. Vocation means – an endless will to make things succeed, prevail. I just wrote it down behind Shogun as a strong back providing him with strength, courage, patience, tones of patience and grace.
I love this piece; it is remarkable in its simplicity and detail. Bold.
